Mehdi Benzaari is the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Energy Solutions Company (‘ESC’). ESC is a wholly owned and recently launched Public Investment Fund (‘PIF’) portfolio company and has a mandate to drive the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s sustainable energy goals as it’s national champion for green hydrogen. PIF is the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia and has over $900 Billion in assets under Mehdi has extensive experience in strategic leadership and transformation roles across the Industrial Gas and EPC sectors, including executive roles at Linde, Air Liquide and Jacobs Engineering. Prior to joining ESC in April 2024, Mehdi was the President for Linde Gas in Saudi Arabia. Mehdi has played a pivotal role in the global advancement of the hydrogen industry throughout his career and has experience in leading major capital-intensive growth initiatives and multi-billion dollar projects in the hydrogen and broader clean energy sectors. His career spans multiple geographies including the US, France, Japan, Morocco, Qatar, UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia. Mehdi’s academic achievements include a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics, a Master’s Degree in Marketing & Innovation and a PhD in International Relations from leading Universities in France. He has also undertaken leading executive education programs in Strategy from London Business School and in the Economics of Clean Energy from Stanford University. Mehdi strongly believes in the instrumental role that clean hydrogen and its derivatives will play in the global net zero energy landscape of the future and his role at ESC and the transformative mandate that the company has been given enables him to focus on the vision of accessible and affordable clean energy for all stakeholders.
