About Me

Hrithik Sharma is a sustainability, ESG, and sustainable finance professional with over 12 years of experience spanning sustainable finance, ESG research, climate disclosures, sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, E&S risk, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability governance, complemented by earlier experience in technology, business strategy, and film distribution. A management graduate of ESADE Business School (Spain), he most recently served as Associate Director and Americas' Lead for the Sustainable Fixed Income Research unit at Morningstar Sustainalytics in Toronto, leading a 14-member team and serving as final reviewer across hundreds of sustainability and sustainable finance framework assessments for global issuers and financial institutions. His responsibilities included managing the delivery of Sustainalytics' Second-Party Opinions (SPOs) on green(-enabling), transition, social, and sustainability bond and loan frameworks; global sustainability-linked bond (SLB) and sustainability-linked loan (SLL) issuances; sustainability and green deposit eligibility guides for banks; EU Taxonomy assessments; and Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI) climate-bond issuance letters for global clients. Prior to Morningstar Sustainalytics, Hrithik worked within the Sustainable Finance & Investor Strategy division at Yes Bank, where he played a pivotal role in establishing several of the institution's sustainability practices, including greenhouse-gas accounting, climate-related disclosures, CDP reporting, portfolio-emissions estimation, sustainable-finance product development, and Green Climate Fund accreditation initiatives. His contributions were recognized in SRI-CONNECT's 2019 global IRR rankings for "Most Positive Contribution". Earlier in his career, he worked in business development within the film-distribution sector at Unisys Infosolutions, software engineering at Capgemini, and business strategy at Reimagine Food in Spain. This blend of analytical, commercial, technical, and creative experience enables Hrithik to translate complex sustainability, finance, and investment concepts into compelling business narratives for diverse audiences. Having worked with stakeholders across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC, and collaborated with professionals from more than 45 nationalities during his management education, he is passionate about cross-cultural engagement and speaks four languages, including English and Spanish. A filmmaker at heart, Hrithik won the world's largest social filmmaking challenge in 2016 for his short film, Magic!.
