Blinds.com is one of the largest e-commerce retailers in the world. $250MM company that was acquired by The Home Depot in 2014. • Integrated with Home Depot, Perform due diligence on acquisitions. o Conveyed our IT plans, architecture and methodologies to potential investors. o Ensured our systems scale to keep up with our fast-growing business. o Established Agile principles throughout company, manage all development, and develop a world-class eCommerce platform upgrade. o Brought more structure and consistency to the IT department. • Migrated the Home Depot’s Custom Blinds to our ecommerce platform “Autobahn”. o We delivered on-time, on-budget and immediately improved THD custom blinds sales by 10X! Other products were migrated as well, and more were in development. • Acquisition by The Home Depot: Prepare GCC to go public or to be acquired. o Managed the IT due diligence with THD which went very smoothly because we were prepared, knowing the types of things that they would want to see. • Migrated to a hybrid cloud environment in preparation of rapid scaling. • Autobahn ecommerce Platform: Maintained 20% year over year growth on legacy ecommerce platform while building a new, state of the art platform for easily selling highly customizable products. $250MM in sales will pass through Autobahn in 2017. Running within AWS, was highly scalable and running at 99.99% uptime. • Dual Factor Authentication: To improve security we added Duo dual factor authentication which provides a time-constrained code through a cell phone or fob to use along with Active Directory credentials to ensure valid access. • Acquisition of American Blinds: Performed due diligence on this previously $75MM company which had dropped to $21MM. o Managed IT teams of both companies during an extremely fast migration (3 months) bringing over their blinds business to our Alliance platform and their wallpaper business with 65,000+ products. o Reverse engineered their systems since they had no documentation. • Implemented an Agile software development lifecycle to bring consistency and stability to the development process, which eventually spread to the way the entire company runs projects. • IT Metrics: Created dozens of metrics for measuring change tickets, SLA’s, projects, network performance, website performance. Reviewed metrics each week with senior leadership team. Presented metrics at two CEO roundtable events. • Due Diligence for New Ecommerce Platform: Completed due diligence on several candidate companies. Managed relationship with all vendors, completed total cost of ownership, evaluated technologies. • Improve Reliability: Implemented automated processes to migrate to dev, test, UAT, QA, Prod. Significantly improved reliability and virtually eliminated having to revert to previous release.
