As an organization grows the technology needs grow from being a "nice" to mission critical and the transition from "start up" IT to "enterprise" IT begins. NO this doesn't mean that you have to hire an army of additional people, however it is a transition that must be thoughtful with respect to the organization, structure and discipline required for the future. What got us here is not going to get us there (at least without being a ball and chain slowing progress). This is where I come in having experience in both Fortune 100 companies as well as PE backed growth companies, I understand what is needed, the order and lead time to acquire these capabilities and perhaps most importantly the maximum speed with which and organization can absorb change.
